Thanks to everyone who came out to kickball! A little rain didn’t stop us from having fun at Berlin Park (darn rain)!

Thanks to everyone who came out to kickball! A little rain didn’t stop us from having fun at Berlin Park (darn rain)!

Thank to everyone who came out to march in our first 4th of July Parade! It was a HOT one, but the Cubs had a great time handing out candy and flyers and most especially running into the sprinkler!
Big thank you also to Crew 148 and Troop 48 for marching with us!
Pictures are now up on the website! If you need the password again, just message Mike!

Pack 48 will be going to see the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in South Philadelphia on Sunday July 22nd , with first pitch at 1:35 pm (Phillies Vs. Padres)!
Tickets are just $16 each! Family and friends are invited! Tickets can be paid for by cash or check (made out to PACK 48), and must be turned in no later than Friday, July 13th. As per Phillies policy, children aged 2 and under do NOT require a ticket as long as they are sitting on someone’s lap.
Tickets will be distributed and/or need to be picked up BEFORE game day so that everyone can get to the game at the time that best suits them. For folks who haven’t been to a game yet this season, the ballpark now has a wiffleball field, rock climbing wall, and hot dog cannon shooting range that are FREE and well worth getting there early for to check out before the game starts!
Huge thank you to Shawn Holmes for coordinating this event and handling the tickets!
Pack 48 is having a night to run around on the playground with our friends! We’ll meet at Berlin Park off of Cross Keys Road and play from 7 to 8 PM!
This is also an open house event, so families with boys OR girls going into Grades K through 5th are welcome to join us to hang out and play and the parents can find out about Cub Scouts! You don’t have to be from Berlin to join our Pack (we have Scouts from each Berlin, Pine Hill, Gibbsboro, Barrington, and Riverside already), just be a family looking for some adventure!

After the rainout of the District Camp-o-ree, we held out make-up campout at the Berlin VFW on Saturday, June 14th. Eight families showed up to enjoy an evening of games, chasing fireflies, and making smores.

Rumor is there were even some folks that got sleep! This was our third and final Pack overnight for the year, but we’ll have plenty more camping next year! Thank you everyone who came out and who helped out!

Pack 48 kicked off our first summer of awesome with a hike at Black Run Preserve in Marlton! Our crew did 2 1/2 miles and saw such awesome sights as a great big turtles and not one, but TWO beavers swimming in a pond.

At the beaver pond, with the lodge in the background to their right.
Thursday, June 7, Pack 48 closed out our first year with our End of Year BBQ and Move Up Ceremony! We started with hot dogs and tons of food outside (cookie cake! cookie cake!).

We then presented our last round of advancements that our Cubs earned in their last month this year. This was followed up by a slide show of the fun we had in our first year as a Pack.

It was then time to close out the year. Each Den came forward, then crossed their next year of Cubs! We finished off with Nick, who became our first Arrow of Light Scout to cross over to Boy Scouts… good luck Nick!

Our first year was an absolute blast. While we won’t get back to regular den meetings until September, we have a TON of fun activities ready for this summer!

HUGE thank you to everyone who came out Saturday of Memorial Day weekend to help out the Berlin VFW!
We started our day at Berlin Cemetery, where we helped out placing flags on the graves of over 1000 veterans who are buried there. We also visited the very first Eagle Scout in the history of the BSA, who is buried in this cemetery.

We then moved on to the VFW itself. There, the Pack helped Troop 48 and Crew 148 fold dozens of flags to prepare them for retirement. They then watched the opening the ceremony before helping with the flag retirement itself.

Afterward, hot dogs and cold drinks!
May was a fun, final month of Den Meetings!
Our Wolves worked on Map Skills!

Our Lions learned about plant parts and how they grow, then visited Damblys to plant some seeds and plants (thank you to Damblys Garden Center for having us!).

And our Bears/Weblos/Arrow of Light Scouts did some fishing!

Great final month for Den Meetings, we’ll have lots of new Den Meetings come September!
